What Happens When a Home Exterior Is Left Too Long
Kerb appeal is the first thing to go, and it is worth real money. Residential Services and How We Deliver Them
Driveways and patios: hot-water rotary surface cleaning lifts algae, lichen, oil and ingrained traffic film from block paving, Indian sandstone, porcelain, limestone, flags and concrete without the striping caused by hand-held lances. Joints are re-sanded with kiln-dried sand, and weed treatment and sealing are available to extend the result.
Roof cleaning: moss, lichen and algae removed by hand and by controlled soft washing, followed by a biocidal treatment that continues working after we leave. Gutters and downpipes are cleared of the debris the clean releases, and we report any slipped or cracked tiles we find.
Gutters, fascias and soffits: full clearance, downpipe flushing and flow testing, with fascias and soffits washed down. This is the maintenance item we recommend most often, and the one that prevents the largest bills.
Render cleaning: silicone, acrylic, monocouche and pebbledash render soft washed at low pressure with a biocide that removes the black and green staining most Liverpool and Cheshire estates develop within five years. High pressure on render is a repair job waiting to happen and we do not use it.
Brick and stone cleaning: appropriate methods for period property, including DOFF superheated steam for sandstone and listed frontages, poultices for staining and paint, and gentle steam for Victorian and Edwardian brick. We remove growth, pollution, efflorescence and old paint without opening up the face of the masonry.
Windows, conservatories and glass: external cleaning with water purified to zero parts per million so glass dries with no streaks or spotting, frames and sills included, plus conservatory roof cleaning in glass and polycarbonate. Regular schedules from four to twelve weeks are available.
Decking, walls, fences and garden features: soft washed to remove the slippery green film from timber and composite decking, plus garden walls, steps, bin stores and outdoor furniture.
